In June, Campbell County Health (CCMH) announced that it would begin collecting initial payments, or co-pays, for CCMH Emergency Room visits. We also announced that additional services would be following suite.

Effective Tuesday, December 10, CCMH will begin collecting an initial payment at the time of registration for specific Radiology procedures, CT and MRI scans.

This initial payment will be applied to the patient's deductible and co-payment. The amount requested is based upon the charge for the procedure, but will usually average between $200- $300. Some payments may be as low as $100, and some may be up to $475, depending on the specific procedure. Medicare patients with supplemental insurance, Medicaid recipients, patients with dual insurance coverage, VA, Tricare and Workers Comp patients are exempt from the initial payment policy.

As has always been the case, CCMH will continue to treat patients in Radiology regardless of their ability to pay. The CCMH Financial Assistance policy outlines the steps to apply for assistance and describes payment options.
