There's a new Plant Ops VP in town: Steve Crichton

New Plant Operations and Facilities Vice President Steve Crichton was looking to downsize.

As Vice President of Support Services for St. Joseph Health System in Bryan, Texas, he was responsible for overseeing 47 construction projects, plant operations and safety for two hospitals and a long term care facility across nine counties in southeast Texas.

“The job was too big for one person,” said Steve. “There was a big appeal in going to a smaller health system that is growing.”

Making a positive impact and helping others was also important to Steve.

“There’s a lot going here,” says Steve. “Just look at the lobby, the landscaping, the childcare center. I see a system that’s investing in its future. That’s the fun part, seeing the vision come to life.”

The decision to come to Gillette was made together with Steve’s wife Doni Roper.

So far, they’ve like what they’ve seen. Doni recently retired after working in the Human Resources field, including as a Director of Human Resources for a large hospital system.

Steve has three adult sons, and the first granddaughter in the Crichton family in more than 100 years just turned one year old.

Steve and Doni enjoy cooking together and traveling, especially taking cruises.

“The people we’ve met have been great,” says Steve. “All the neighborhood kids have stopped by and introduced themselves. That’s something we haven’t seen very often.”
