Thanks for working here Thursday: Colleen Long, Emergency Medical Services

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow me to introduce Colleen Long, Paramedic, who works in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department. She received her paramedic training from Weber State University and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS) and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). Colleen is also a Car Seat Tech and EMT Class Coordinator and Instructor. She’s been with EMS for 11 years—two of those years serving as a volunteer EMT basic in Wright. Colleen has always enjoyed helping people and had the opportunity to take an EMT basic class in Wright. “My instructor (colleague Denny Bohne) inspired me to continue my education and to advance in prehospital medicine,” she said. We asked Colleen what she likes most about working for CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“We have such great knowledge and skilled professionals here. I have gained many friendships and have learned so much from all the caring individuals we have here. I also love the variety of work involved with EMS. You never know what the day may hold and there is always something that you can do. We are able to help people in their darkest moments and have the ability to bring a little light back into their lives. This is truly a very inspirational and humbling field to work in.

Excellence every day is the best part of working here and a great life message. We are here to be the best that we can be, to help out with any task or project—to offer a friendly smile and helping hand. Knowing that we have made someone’s day better or that we helped complete a project means the world to me. These are the things that help us all continue when the days get long and hard.

Colleen, thank you for all that you do for keeping our community safe. We are proud to have you on our team.

Is there a CCH employee who went the extra mile or shows you extraordinary service? Give them a pat on the back by completing an Excellence Every Day card.
