Thanks for working here Thursday: Kimberly Maser, CNA, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Kimberly Maser, CNA, who works on the Cottonwood neighborhood at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. For those who don’t know, this neighborhood is part of the Memory Support Unit for residents who suffer from dementia. Kim has worked for CCH for a little more than two years.

“I started as a volunteer at a hospital in California in 1990, and realized very quickly that I could make a difference in the lives of people in a positive way. So, in 1994 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). It’s a very emotionally rewarding career—knowing that I will be the difference between comfort and pain, happiness and sadness, and even life and death for the patients and residents that I help,” says Kim.

“When Kim is working her residents are calm and well cared for. She takes time to find out what their schedule and routine is so she can help them be as independent as possible,” says Jonni Belden, RN, Vice President of Home Care Services. “Kim also helps provide staff education related to dementia and family education. Kim is an excellent mentor to new staff and is an outstanding team player.”

We asked Kim what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I like working for CCH because everyone who works here truly does care and have compassion for their residents and patients. That’s why I love working in the Memory Support Unit at The Legacy. My coworkers are some of the most caring people. We have a tough job working with dementia residents, but my coworkers are passionate about their job. My coworkers and residents truly are my second family.

Excellence Every Day to me means that I come to work with integrity, I speak with a purpose, and I am committed to my job.”

Thank you, Kim for your compassionate care for the residents on the Cottonwood neighborhood. We are thankful to have you on our team.
