Family and Medical Leave (FMLA)
What is Family and Medical Leave?
If you are a qualifying employee, you can receive up to 12 weeks of unpaid
leave per 12 month period for personal or family injury or illness. Upon
returning to work after the leave, you will be reinstated to your same
job or an equivalent position with equivalent pay.
Who Qualifies for FMLA Leave?
Employees who have been employed at CCH for 1 year and have worked at least
1250 hours in the 12 months before they take the leave.
How Much Time Can I Take?
12 weeks during a 12 month period.
When Does the 12 month period start?
The first day of your leave.
What Qualifies for Medical Leave?
Child birth or your own serious health condition.
What Qualfies for Family Leave?
The adoption or foster placement of a child or the serious health condition
of your spouse, parent or child.
Can You Receive Pay While on Leave?
Yes, FMLA Leave is unpaid, however, you must utilize your PTO and/or your
PSL to receive income. PSL cannot be used for Family leave.
