Education: High School Diploma or GED. Medical Terminology.
Licensure: Must obtain PBT certification within 2 years of employment
Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR or Red Cross Professional Rescuer
certification within 60 days of employment.
Experience: Phlebotomy training required. Experience preferred.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills: A high degree of manual and finger dexterity
and hand/eye coordination is required, as are vision, hearing and speech
sufficient to perform duties.
Interpersonal Skills: Must have a good attitude and be able to deal with
people in a courteous manner.
Essential Physical Requirements: Position requires a full range of body
motion, including lifting and carrying supplies on a daily basis. Position
requires bending over to obtain specimens. Standing for long periods is
sometimes encountered. The ability to move from sitting to standing repeatedly
is required. Work area is subject to continual noise and changes in ventilation
and the vibration of instruments.
Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to read and comprehend written
instructions. Must be able to learn use of new technical devices. Must
be able to work without assistance and under stressful conditions.
Essential Sensory Requirements: Must have vision and hearing corrected
to normal range. Must be able to tolerate use of computer displays.
