Emergency Care Department


Working in conjunction with the Emergency Care Department manager, Emergency Care Department (ECD) clinical care supervisors, RN, and LPN the ECD PCT performs a variety of skills/tasks for predictable patients with limited risk of complications and change. The ECD PCT may not be delegated ECD PCT skills if the patient does not have a stable condition and predictable outcome. The ECD PCT works under the direction of a licensed nurse who must follow the principles of delegation. ECD PCT work is reflective of CCMH mission, vision and values. The ECD PCT will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the continuum. The ECD PCT practices within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, and National Patient Safety Goals.


High school graduate or GED, completion of nurse's aide certification. Those who currently have an EMT Certification: Wyoming State or National registry/certification as EMT-A or EMT-I, certification as medical technician or commensurate experience are eligible for hire but must complete CNA training within one year. Currently certified in the State of Wyoming; Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training. (with on time renewal). Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR or Red Cross Professional Rescuer certification within 60 days of employment. Previous CNA experience preferred.
