Tammy Turnbull, RN, has been named the new Director of Nursing for Pioneer Manor. She brings 30 years of nursing experience and several years of Long-Term Care experience as a Director of Nursing, most recently in Alliance, NE at the Highland Park Care Center. Tammy has worked in acute care and home health care settings, and taught Certified Nurse Aide classes. She has been with CCMH since January 2009, serving as Nursing Supervisor for Neighborhood 1&2 at Pioneer Manor and as an Educator at the Gillette College of Nursing in partnership with CCMH. One of Tammy’s goals at Pioneer Manor is the implementation of the primary nursing concept, where the same staff members care for the same residents each day. This concept improves communication and continuity of care.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to help make positive changes for our staff and residents,” says Tammy. “I’ll be part of a team effort, along with the two nurse managers and the rest of our staff.” Tammy will begin her new role on September 21.
