Boost Til 9 Car Seat Safety Event on September 8

  • Posted On:
GILLETTE, WY – Safe Kids Campbell County is sponsoring a car seat check and bike rodeo on Saturday, September 8 from 10 am-2 pm at Campbell County Public Health, 2301 4-J Road in Gillette. Each year Child Passenger Safety Technicians celebrate Child Passenger Safety Week by hosting events to ensure that families are using the correct vehicle restraint for their children, such as car seats, booster seats or seat belts. Technicians can tell if a vehicle restraint is installed correctly, and when it is time to move from one type of restraint to another, based on the child’s age, weight and height.

Booster seat replacements will be available on a first come, first served basis free of charge while supplies last and other car seat replacement items will be available for a $30 expected contribution. There must be a current need to receive a booster seat free of charge, and a parent or caregiver, the child and the car they normally ride in must be present.

Children can also receive a free bike helmet by bring their bike and completing the bike safety course. A parent or guardian must accompany the child.

Safe Kids Campbell County, Safe Kids Wyoming and its network of Coalitions and Chapters are members of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing accidental injury. Safe Kids coalitions combine several factors to create programs that reduce injuries by:
