Dr. Monica Morman Recertified in Orthopaedic Surgery

GILLETTE, WY – Dr. Monica Morman has received recertification in Orthopaedic Surgery and the added qualification (CAQ) of Hand Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), valid through 2025. Dr. Morman practices at Campbell County Medical Group, Orthopaedic Specialists, located on the third floor of Campbell County Health.

The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery is an independent, nonprofit corporation founded in 1934 that exists to serve the public interest by examining orthopaedic surgeons and certifying that they have met certain standards of education, training and practice.

The ABOS is one of the 24 medical specialty boards (Member Boards) that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Through ABMS, the boards work together to set and sustain common standards of expertise and professionalism that each uses to evaluate candidates for board certification and specialists to maintain their certification. Medical specialty certification is the largest standard-setting and assessment process established and maintained by a profession.

Once certified, ABOS diplomates must maintain their certification by completing a Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process, consisting for four components.

  1. Evidence of Professional standing.
  2. Evidence of Life-Long Learning and Self-Assessment.
  3. Evidence of Cognitive Expertise.
  4. Evidence of Performance in Practice, which will focus on a quality improvement model and include a stringent peer review process.
