Safe Kids Campbell County Hosts Safe Kids Day

GILLETTE, WY—Safe Kids Campbell County's Safe Kids Day takes place Saturday, May 9 from 10 am-2 pm at the Campbell County Public Health Parking Lot, 2301 S. 4-J Rd.

During Safe Kids Day, community members can participate in a Child Safety Seat Check where a child passenger technician will check your child's safety restraint to make sure it is up to date and installed properly with no recalls. Participants are asked to bring the child, their current car seat and the vehicle that they normally travel in for the check. Inspection time is around 30 minutes. Replacement seats are available for a $30 contribution.

A Kids' Bike Rodeo is also available where children can practice riding skills through an obstacle course or select a free bike helmet. Parent, child and bike must be present for bike registration.

Also running the same day is the City of Gillette's Sustainability Division Stop & Drop. The Stop & Drop event offers citizens the opportunity to recycle consumer electronics, along with document shredding and prescription drug / over-the-counter drug take back. These events are free to the public.

Safe Kids Campbell County provides our community with free car seat checks, bike rodeos and much more to help educate our children on preventing accidental injuries.
