CCH Employee Receives EEG Certification

GILLETTE, WY – Jody Christopherson, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Cardiopulmonary Services at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, has received certification as a Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) from ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation.

Jody performs neurodiagnostic testing at Campbell County Medical Group Neurology and Pain Management under the direction of Neurologist Dr. Romer Mosquera. She spends about two hours per day in the clinic in addition to her duties as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Jody is one of only three clinicians in the state to receive this certification.

Jody Christopherson, RRT, Cardiopulmonary Services at CCMH“I’m very grateful that the organization saw the value of this certification and helped me complete the 12-month education program I needed,” said Jody. “My manager was very supportive and flexible with my work schedule, and Dr. Mosquera was a mentor to me through this whole journey. It’s great to be able to help patients get the testing they need without having to travel.”

Neurodiagnostic tests, also called neurodiagnostics, are done when a patient's illness or condition is thought to be based in the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Signs of nervous system disorders include:

  • Chronic headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Hearing and vision changes
  • Numbness and tingling
  • Seizures
  • Strokes
  • Weakness

ABRET is a nonprofit, 501(c)6 credentialing board for professionals in the field of neurodiagnstics that encourages and promotes quality technical and clinical standards world-wide for neurodiagnostic technologists through certification and accreditation. Certification is valid for five years.

CCMH Cardiopulmonary Services provides comprehensive care and testing for patients suffering from breathing disorders caused by heart or lung disease.
