CCH employee earns Certified Coding Specialist certification

GILLETTE, WY – Margaret (Maggie) Poloncic, a medical coder in Health and Information Management (Medical Records) at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, successfully completed the AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) exam. Maggie has been employed by Campbell County Health since September 2016. Maggie is one of eight certified coding staff at CCMH.

CCSs are skilled in classifying medical data from patient records. They are responsible for reviewing patients’ records and assigning numeric codes for each diagnosis and procedure; possessing expertise in the ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems; and are knowledgeable about medical terminology, disease processes, and pharmacology.
