Campbell County Health increases visiting restrictions, screenings; cancels classes, events and support groups

GILLETTE, WY – Campbell County Health has increased visiting restrictions and implemented no visitors’ organization wide due to current respiratory risks. Visiting restrictions are in place to help protect patients, residents and employees.

Campbell County Memorial Hospital restrictions include:

  • Behavioral Health Services – no visitors
  • Emergency Department – no visitors; pediatric patient can have one visitor, who will be screened for respiratory symptoms. If patient volumes are high, patients may be asked to wait in their vehicle.
  • Dialysis – no visitors
  • Heptner Cancer Center – only one visitor (over the age of 18), who will be screened for respiratory symptoms
  • Intensive Care Unit – no visitors
  • Maternal Child – only one visitor (over the age of 18), who will be screened for respiratory symptoms
  • Medical/Surgical Unit – no visitors
  • Surgery – only one visitor (over the age of 18), who will be screened for respiratory symptoms
  • A screening process is in place for employees

Other restrictions include:

  • Close to Home Hospice and Hospitality House – all visitors will be screened for respiratory symptoms
  • Powder River Surgery Center – only one adult (over the age of 18) visitor, who will be screened for respiratory symptoms
  • The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center – no visitors. Employees and volunteers will be screened for respiratory symptoms prior to starting work or volunteering.
  • Rehabilitation Services is restricted to medically necessary patients only. Self-pay aquatics, sports conditioning and personal training clients will be contacted with cancellation information.

Clinics:

If you get sick with a respiratory disease, please stay home and call your doctor. Respiratory symptoms include:

  • cough
  • fever over 100.4
  • shortness of breath
  • congestion
  • runny nose
  • sore throat

If your doctor asks you to come to the clinic, please request a face mask at patient check-in. We ask that everyone who has these symptoms wear a mask during their entire visit with us.

To help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, please follow the following guidelines:

  • Avoid contact with sick people
  • Stay home when sick
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
  • Wash hands often and carefully. Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
