  1. The Hot Meal program was organized to assist any individual, regardless of age, who reside within the city limits of Gillette and may have difficulty preparing a well-balanced hot meal at home because of physical limitations, recovery from surgery, or an illness, etc. The food is prepared daily by the Nutrition Services staff at Campbell County Memorial Hospital and is delivered to the home by volunteers.
  2. The Hospital Nutrition Services office must have the phone number, mailing address, and street address of Hot Meals recipients, as well as a phone number of a nearest relative or friend who may be contacted in case of an emergency or if other problems arise.
  3. A house number must be prominently displayed so volunteer drivers can identify the residence.
  4. In most cases specific food preferences cannot be accommodated. Exceptions are types of milk, i.e., skim vs. whole when appropriate for diet.
  5. Food allergies will be recognized.
  6. Meals are usually delivered between 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. six days a week and on all holidays. Cancellation of meals must be made at least one day in advance by phoning the hospital Nutrition Department at 688-1720 or 688-1721. Clients may receive 1 or 2 meals per day, both delivered at the same time. One of these meals will arrive hot and the other meal will be cold to be heated at a later time.
  7. New Hot Meals recipients must make arrangements to begin the program through the Nutrition Services Department Secretary at 688-1721.
  8. Special diet orders can be filled with the knowledge that the recipient has access to unlimited varieties and amounts of foods and that the single meal sent at noon is meant to be part of a total dietary regimen, compliance to which is strictly voluntary. Therefore, special diets sent will be:
    Regular Diet
Diabetic Calorie Controlled Diet--Each meal will provide approximately 500-600 Calories.
    Cardiac/Low Sodium Diet
Mechanical Soft Diet, modification in consistency
  9. The price for each meal is $5.57, which includes tax, and is subject to change. A bill from the CCMH accounting department will be sent at the end of each month for the number of meals delivered during that month.

Website Survey

In 2016, Campbell County Health (CCH) is redesigning its website,, to help the organization provide the best quality care to our patients and residents. To begin this effort, we are asking the public to answer a six-question survey on what items they would like to have on our website. The survey should take no more than five minutes to complete and will closed at noon on Friday, January 29.
