Nutrition Counseling Services

Preventive nutrition is aimed at individuals who are in good health - and want to stay healthy. Therapeutic diets are usually ordered for individuals directly under a physician's care, such as a patient in a hospital or someone recovering from surgery or illness. When special diets are ordered by a physician, a Registered Dietitian can help answer concerns and questions regarding ingredients, amounts and preparation.

CCMH and The Legacy Counseling Services

Nutrition counseling at Campbell County Memorial Hospital and The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center is provided by a Registered Dietitian, giving our patients accurate, up-to-date nutritional information.

Nutrition Staff

A Registered Dietitian has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics and food and nutrition. To maintain registration a dietitian must take 75 hours of American Dietetic Association approved continuing education every five years. And, all Registered Dietitians are required to keep abreast of new developments in the field.

A certified dietary manager (CDM) has completed a dietary management course covering food service management, therapeutic diets and they have passed a national certification exam, and completed 45 clock hour credits every three years to maintain certification. A CDM is a member of the clinical team assisting Registered Dietitians in the nutrition care process.
