Excel Athletic Performance Program
The Excel Athletic Performance Program is a comprehensive physical training program which is designed to improve overall athletic potential.
The protocols and equipment involved in the Excel program allow for optimal training of the body's muscular, cardiovascular, and nervous systems. The primary targets of improvement are speed, agility, power, and athletic coordination. This particular program caters to young athletes between the ages of 10 and 17. Younger athletes would more appropriately fit into our ICAN Excel Program.
Many exercises are high effort and powerful in nature (as are sports) which also means they are high impact exercises. You can expect treadmill sprints, agility drills, hurdle activities, stair running and jumping, weight lifting, and many more exercises alike. Workouts are demanding and stress multiple systems of the body. Each training session is an hour in duration and usually consists of a small group of young athletes.
The 2016 summer session is June 8-August 11 with varying times throughout the day. They are taught by Roy Buchanan, B.S. Exercise Science, Excel Coordinator, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
