Mary Barks to serve on human and civil rights board

Congratulations to Mary Barks, CCH Patient and Physician Relations manager, who was recently elected to serve on Wyoming’s Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. (P&A) Board. Mary has served as the board's President previously.

Prior to her service on the Board, Mary served on the P&A Advisory Council, which Congress created to advise Board members on mental health issues. Mary has been recognized nationally for her longstanding commitment to the needs of persons seeking healthcare, as well as people with disabilities, including participation in a number of national forums relating to disability issues.

Wyoming’s Protection & Advocacy System, Inc. (P&A) is part of the largest provider of legally-based advocacy services for persons with disabilities in the United States. P&As were established by Congress to address abuse, neglect, and lack of programming to persons with disabilities and to provide advocacy for qualifying individuals in a variety of civil rights areas.

In Wyoming, P&A is a federally mandated non-profit organization with a Board of Trustees representing a wide variety of professional, community, and disability interests.

Thank you, Mary, for your commitment to our patients and to Excellence Every Day.
