In a previous blog post, we've mentioned that it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we've made it personal by discussing a dedicated employee who is fighting this disease. This post is about how you can support this annual campaign to increase awareness of this disease.

Create an Early Detection Plan and invite others to do the same. You can learn more about this option, here: www.earlydetectionplan.org/.

Conduct a breast self-exam, and encourage others to do the same. Learn how to, or get a refresher, here: www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-self-exam.

Fundraise. The good news is we have heard about a local event to participate in:

Hands-on Pottery is hosting Color Your Cause on Sunday, October 26, from noon-2 pm. Swing by Hands on Pottery, 122 S. Gillette Ave., and paint a plate to help raise awareness about cancer, learn about local resources that support breast health, and see if you qualify for a FREE mammogram.

And, Wyoming Cancer Resource Services is also offering to Get Pressed. Schedule and complete your mammogram then receive a FREE recyclable mug with coffee from your local Starbucks—promotion available for a limited time.

For more information on both of these events, contact the Wyoming Cancer Resource Services at 1-888-684-4550.
