Say hello to Devon, CCH’s Volunteer Services Coordinator in the Community Relations Department. Devon started her career in healthcare just a year ago in the
CCMG Walk-In Clinic as a registration specialist, and now she manages more than 180 volunteers who give thousands of hours of their time to the organization. Volunteers at CCH work in a variety of departments such as Hospice and Education as well staff the Information Desk, Gift Shoppe, and the Cancer Resource Center, where Devon says she could use a few more volunteers to help (learn more at
We asked Devon what she likes most about working at CCH and why she was inspired to work in healthcare. Her response:
“Each day, I get to work with people who donate their time for nothing in return. Working around such generosity tends to make you more generous and understanding yourself. … I wanted a career that focused on positively influencing people. I think having a job that focuses on helping people and improving the community leads to a better quality of life, overall.”
