Department Discovery November 2015: Wellness Services

The November Department Discovery shines a light on Campbell County Health's Wellness Services.

Wellness is all about helping our community with living a healthier life. They do this by providing broad wellness programs and onsite health screenings to more than 30 corporate entities in and around Northeastern Wyoming (and some out of state offices), as well as offering individuals' health screenings with healthCHECK+. And, you'll even see some blog posts on social media by Wellness staff covering a host of topics to help individuals succeed on their healthy living journey.

The corporate programs Wellness offers takes the best of traditional office health programs and combines them with user-friendly technology, clinical expertise, onsite programming, data input, and on-going support services. Organizations implementing wellness programs often report reduced health care costs, increased productivity, improved employee morale and organizational loyalty. Services Wellness can offer companies include:

  • Face-to-face Health Coaching held year-round that are personalized to the individual.
  • Health Screenings tailored to suit company needs, including audiograms, biometric screenings, blood screenings, bone density tests and pulmonary function tests.

"Between our Corporate Wellness Screenings and healthCheck+ screenings, we had more than 11,560 participants come through the office so far this year," says Wellness Supervisor Tanya Allee, RD, LD. In 2014, the department saw 9,000 participants, Tanya said. "We also conducted 3,835 Health Coaching consults in 2014 and have completed 4,035 to date so far this year. The Health Coaches have seen great improvements within all the companies we provide Health Coaching for as they are working on reducing health risks and creating healthier behaviors."

With roughly 16 employees in Wellness, and seeing more than 11K people a year, this department keeps busy. This year, they are excited to begin working with Campbell County Government for their Annual Wellness Screening and Year Round Health Coaching. "We recently screened 670 County employees and spouses in October, and will be working with 570 of them for onsite Health Coaching throughout the year," says Tanya. And they are always taking on additional companies looking to improve their health programs.

Wellness also helps to empower individuals who want to take an active role in their own health care to make positive, healthy, and long-lasting lifestyle changes with healthCHECK+. This service lets those interested get lab tests and health screenings without a physician order. On top of traditional blood testing or Wellness Panels offered, healthCHECK+ offers a host of other screenings including:

  • Diabetes Management Panel,
  • Thyroid Function Panel,
  • and a Vitamin D Panel, which is currently $15 off through December 31, 2015, and many more.

This service is offered Monday-Friday from 6-11 am at the Energy Professional Building at 1901 Energy Court, Suite 115—conveniently located off Boxelder Avenue, behind Common Cents and Wendy's. Walk-ins are welcome, and you can request an appointment at www.cchwyo.org/hcplus.

"The Wellness team goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone who walks through our door has an outstanding experience—I'm very proud to say that we have an amazing team," says Tanya.
