Volunteer needs met for The Legacy move

For safety reasons, all walk-in volunteers will be turned away

Anyone who lives in Campbell County, Wyoming knows how generous and giving this community is, and Campbell County Health recently got a rather large taste of this community’s volunteer spirit as well.

In early October, CCH put out a call for volunteers to help move residents and staff into our new long-term care facility, The Legacy Living & Rehabilitation Center. In less than three weeks, we received a very generous outpouring of support—there are now more than 150 volunteers who have helped, or are going to help CCH with the move from Pioneer Manor to The Legacy. From traffic control to greeters, to playing music and packing up residents’ belongings, we have filled every volunteer position imaginable. This community stepped up in a big way to help the residents of The Legacy, and we at CCH are truly humbled.

Currently, there are no other volunteer opportunities available to help with this move. Anyone who is volunteering has already been contacted by CCH Volunteer Services Coordinator Chris Buxton, and has attended an orientation session specific to the duties they will carry out. For the safety of the residents, CCH staff and other volunteers, those who have not attended orientation or show up the day of the move to The Legacy will be turned away.

Media or others who wish to participate in documenting any aspect of the move from Pioneer Manor to The Legacy, are expected to respect the privacy of any residents and volunteers who do not wish to be photographed—this includes a significant number of residents. CCH Community Relations will be on site at Pioneer Manor and The Legacy, and are available for assistance. Please identify yourself at any check-in point so we can help you with your coverage. For questions regarding media coverage, please contact Community Relations at 307.688.1580, or directly at:

Again, CCH is truly grateful for the support and generous nature of the Campbell County Community. Should you have any questions about your volunteer role, please contact Chris at 307.688.1536 or email crystal.buxton@cchwyo.org. For questions about The Legacy, please call 307.688.7000.
