The Campbell County Health December 2017 Department Discovery shines a
light on the Campbell County Health
Occupational Case Management department.
Healthy businesses are vital to the growth and prosperity of Campbell County.
When an employee suffers an injury at work it can negatively impact a
business. That’s where Case Management can help.
“It’s our priority to ensure proper treatment is received and
get injured workers back on the job as quickly, and safely, as possible,”
says Vanda Cathey, RN, Occupational Nurse Case Manager.
The team is small, but mighty: Occupational Nurse Case Managers, Miranda
Erisman, RN, and Vanda, along with Jamie Mooney, Employee Safety Coordinator.
Essentially, Case Management guides employees at CCH, and other organizations
in the community, through the injury care process—from onset of
injury or illness, to safe return to work or optimal health. Case Management
is designed to provide a streamlined process for the injured employee,
employer and healthcare providers.
“We fill the gap between physicians, patients and employers while
facilitating safe and timely return to work, which results in cost savings,”
This team is also in charge of implementing preventative measures, including
overseeing the non-slip shoe program, and other safety measures throughout
Campbell County Health.
Not many people know but for the past several years, Case Management has
received a grant from the Marna M. Kuehne Foundation to assist veterans
within Campbell, Crook and Weston Counties. “We use the money received
to help veterans with travel, dental, vision and other medical expenses
for which the Veterans Administration has disparities,” says Vanda.
According to Miranda, the best part of this team is how well they all work
together. “Being a small department of three, we rely on each other
through teamwork and communication to provide the best services, not only
to our employees but to our community as well,” she says.
A big round of applause to the Occupational Case Management Team! Thanks
