While we are essentially back to normal operations now at Campbell County
Health, one of the results from our recent
cyber event was how it affected our
We were not able to post any payments or bill insurance companies during
the event. What does this mean for you as a patient? It has always been
our practice to collect payment from the patient’s insurance company
before billing the payment for the amount they owe. This hasn’t
changed with the cyber event. What has changed is that there will be delays
for some patients when it comes to receiving their bills. Patients who
received services in late August or September will see a delay in receiving
a bill for the amount they owe the hospital.
In addition, we haven’t been able to start billing insurance companies,
and won’t do so until the end of next week. That’s because
we want to make sure that what we are sending out is accurate and complete.
The insurance companies have built-in delay as well, so it may result
in delays downstream to our patients.
We have been experiencing issues with our billing process over the last
few months, and we are working hard to make improvements. I know this
is has been frustrating for our patients, and I apologize for any inconvenience
this may cause you.
