Thanks For Working Here This Week: Carolyn Telkamp, CCH Accounting

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Carolyn Telkamp, an Accountant in the Accounting Department at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. For those who don’t know, the Accounting department is responsible for accounts payable, budgets, fixed asset tracking, monthly financials, payroll, and statistics throughout the health system. Carolyn has worked for CCH for nearly three years, but has been working in accounting and payroll for almost 30! She earned a bachelor’s degree in math and has taken many other business-related courses. Carolyn even spent one summer as an aide in a nursing home caring for residents.

Carolyn’s family has been very involved in health care for many years, so it’s no surprise to find her working in the field as well.

“My father is my health care hero; he was a family practitioner for more than 40 years. I still remember his little black bag and him making house calls to those patients that could not come into his office and the long hours he worked to make sure everyone that needed help got it. He firmly believed that you treat the whole person and spent time listening to everything going on in their life when they came to see him,” she says.

When Carolyn is not at work, she enjoys spending as much time with her family—especially her two grandchildren—as well as camping and motorcycling.

We asked Carolyn what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I enjoy working in the accounting department with a great group of people who make customer service their highest priority every day and have fun doing it. I take pride in knowing that I am giving my best every day and trying to learn something new each day.

Excellence Every Day means to me showing up ready to work with a smile on your face, giving your best effort every day and assisting anyone who may need your help.”

Thank you, Carolyn, for giving your best each day. We appreciate you!
