John L. Mansell, MD

About John

After graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. John Mansell returned to his home state of Alabama for medical school at the University of Alabama and then onward to Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans where he completed his anesthesiology residency and focusing on Pain Medicine in his senior year. He passed his Boards in Anesthesiology in 1992 and in Pain Medicine in 1994, the first year that the American Board of Anesthesiology offered this exam.

With 29 years in practice, Dr. Mansell has served as a medical expert for legal cases and insurance companies, and spoken at medical conferences teaching other doctors topics in pain medicine. He has served as the President of the Wyoming Society of Anesthesiologists for the past five years and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Dr. Mansell has been living and practicing in Gillette the past nine years and currently works at the Powder River Pain Clinic at 3100 West Lakeway, Suite 3. Physicians in other Wyoming cities (like Casper) have also asked him to see patients in other towns and he holds privileges at multiple hospitals.

Powder River Pain Clinic performs comprehensive evaluations and essentially the full spectrum of interventional pain procedures. When appropriate it also offers ketamine infusions, stem cell and PRP injection therapy.

In his spare time Dr. Mansell runs a biotech company he founded and tries to grow more trees for Campbell County, Wyoming.
