Why are you working in therapy/mental health? I like helping others become themselves again and have a large amount
of empathy for others.
Why is being a Therapist/Counselor important to you? Mental health is a very neglected field and being able to help even one
person do better makes an impact on several other people in a positive
way. It’s like a ripple effect.
Why did you choose to work for CCH? A former co-worker told me about it and I wanted the chance to work more
closely with children.
What has made you feel the most pride in your work at CCH? I love the collaboration that CCH has with the community, especially the
Kid Clinic and the School District.
Who is your mental health hero and why? Most likely Brene Brown as she has an outlook on counseling and how to
help others that is very similar to my own. Carl Rogers is also awesome
as a therapeutic relationship with a client is essential for them to work
and grow in counseling.
If you had one piece of advice for a therapy-seeker, what would it be? Don’t be afraid to ask any question, and if you are uncomfortable
with a counselor for any reason, don’t be afraid to ask to see someone
else. You are not ‘stuck’ with a therapist-it also won’t
hurt our feelings if you want to work with someone else J Therapeutic
alliance is crucial.
What do you do for fun? I do so many different things for fun! I love hanging out with my children,
jump on the trampoline, hiking, camping, boating, swimming, and pretty
much any other activity you can think of outside! My other half and I
love playing cribbage, card games, and bean bag toss, too!
