GILLETTE, WY — Applications for Campbell County Health’s
Junior Volunteer Program are now available. Interested youth between the ages of 13-18 years old
can get an application at the Information Desk in the main lobby of Campbell
County Memorial Hospital (CCMH), 501 S. Burma Avenue in Gillette, Wyoming, or at
www.cchwyo.org/volunteer — look under the Junior tab.
The application is due Friday, May 3.
Applications may be dropped off at PBX in the main lobby of CCMH, or turned
in to CCH Volunteer Coordinator
Chris Buxton in Volunteer Services, located on the ground floor of CCMH in Community
Relations, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm.
Interested youth must be 13 years old by May 1, 2019, be able to volunteer
at least three hours each week—excluding vacations—and have
transportation to and from their volunteer location. Volunteer shirts/uniforms
will be provided.
There are a limited number of spaces in the Junior Volunteer Program. Acceptance
into the program is first come, first served. Those accepted to the program
must attend an interview/meet and greet with Chris. Orientation will be
held on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31; more details about this will
be provided to those accepted into the program.
The Junior Volunteer Program offers youth the invaluable opportunity to
learn about multiple career paths and experience what it is like to work
in a professional environment. Junior volunteers perform duties such as
greeting patients and families, assisting nursing and support staff, working with
The Legacy residents, and other healthcare related services. They also help in the CCMH
Gift Shoppe or The Legacy Country Store and at the Information Desk, as well as sell
popcorn to raise money for the Volunteer Services Scholarship Program,
which provides two $1,000 scholarships each year to high school students.
The Junior Volunteer Program begins Wednesday, June 5 and runs through
Wednesday, August 7. For more information, call Volunteer Services at
