Child Safety Seat Check
Safe Kids Campbell County hosts a child safety seat check event on Saturday,
April 25 from 10 am-2 pm at the Campbell County Public Health parking
lot, 2301 W. 4-J Road in Gillette.
At this event, residents can have a child passenger safety technician check
their child’s booster seat or car seat to make sure it is up to
date and installed properly with no recalls. Participants are asked to
bring the child, their current car seat and the vehicle that they normally
travel in for the check. Inspection time is around 30 minutes. Replacement
car seats are available for a $30 contribution.
Also at the event:
Drug Take Back: Campbell County Sheriff's Office will host a drug take back. This
is a great way for you to safely dispose of expired and unused prescription
and over-the-counter medications. Can’t make it to the Drug Take
Back? Drop your unused or unneeded prescriptions inside the Campbell County

Drop Box at anytime, all year.

Guidelines issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2011 recommend that kids
use a booster seat until they are at least 4’9” tall (57 inches)
and weigh between 80 and 100 pounds. Children seated in a
booster seat in the back seat of the car are 45% less likely to be injured in a crash
than children using a seat belt alone. According to
Wyoming Child Restraint Laws, children must be in a child restraint (car seat or booster seat) until
they are 9 years old.
