About Rachel

Name: Rachel Wilde

Amount of time working for CCH: 2012

Time working as a Provider (doctor, therapist, counselor, DPT, APRN, PA-C, health coach): I’ve worked in adult fitness for over 20 years now.

Credentials and/or specializations: PBT (Phlebotomist), CPT (AFAA certified personal trainer/group exercise), MA

Why are you working in your chosen specialty? Helping others is my passion. I enjoy teaching, learning and the sense of accomplishment when I can help a client meet and exceed their goals.

Why is being a provider (doctor, therapist, counselor, DPT, APRN, PA-C, health coach) important to you? I truly believe that prevention makes a difference. You can’t change the things you don’t know are happening.

Why did you choose to work for CCH? CCH presented a better opportunity for me- I have been able to grow my skill set since I came to work here, and I’ve found that prevention builds off my passion for fitness.

What has made you feel the most pride in your work at CCH? There have been instances in which I was able to help a patient or client who previously had a bad experience (for example, with a blood draw) and change their perspective into a positive. I truly love helping others!

Who is your health care hero and why? I couldn’t name one specific person- but I would say nurses in general. These are the people who can make a very difficult circumstance bearable. My granddaughter was in Denver Children’s for 10 weeks and ultimately had open heart surgery. Through that time, her nurses amazed me- because of the care they provided to my granddaughter and the comfort and confidence they gave to my daughter. I also have 2 very dear friends who are physicians- I appreciate their support and willingness to share information.

What advice do you give someone who is looking for a new provider? A second opinion can be very valuable because a fresh set of eyes can see a whole new picture. Don’t be afraid to try a new provider! Ask other’s about their experiences, specific to what you are looking for- do you need a good listener? Someone who won’t keep you waiting? Or a provider with a specific skill set? Go to your appointment with your medical record and a list and bring a second set of ears to help you manage all the new information you receive.

What do you do for fun? I love to be active- I play volleyball, softball and run. Travel is high up on my list and I will often pair a destination with a half marathon as an excuse to go somewhere new. I enjoy the outdoors and like to ride ATV’s and camp or be at a lake. I enjoy building things and the way it makes my brain work. I constantly have a project going in my home or my garden. I like to paint and craft. My first love is time with my family, my 3 daughters, the friends I call family and especially my new granddaughter.
