About Gaddiel
Hulett welcomes Dr. Gaddiel Rios!
Family Medicine doctor Dr. Gaddiel Rios believes in understanding and treating the whole patient. By incorporating wellness, spirituality, and health lifestyle practices, Dr. Rios strives to positively impact his patients’ lives.
Born in Puerto Rico, he grew up in Massachusetts, and came to realize that access to healthcare was not equal for poorer, Hispanic families like his. As a teenager Dr. Rios had the opportunity see medicine up close at a summer program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and decided that listening to and interacting with people was incredibly appealing; setting him on a path toward becoming a physician.
Dr. Rios graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, TX. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served overseas in Europe and in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Originally on a path to specialize in Child Neurology, Dr. Rios switched to Family Medicine because it gave him the opportunity to help patients through preventative medicine, and build long-lasting relationships over time.
He has over 22 years of experience in family medicine, and has practiced in both metropolitan areas and smaller, more rural communities. He and his wife Silvia came to Wyoming from Houston, TX, where he was in private practice. They are currently renting a home in Hulett and enjoy living in a small town and becoming part of the local community.
When he is not practicing, Dr. Rios enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and boating. He is passionate about mentoring high school and college students, and has hosted Bible studies for students when he practiced in Texas.
“I want the people in Hulett and the surrounding communities to know that I am here, and ready to serve their healthcare needs.”
