GILLETTE, WY – Jonni Belden, RN, BSN, has accepted the position of Administrator at Pioneer Manor, Campbell County Health’s long term care facility. Ms. Belden has been the Interim Administrator since August 2012. She was offered the permanent position after successfully completing the requirements for her Nursing Home Administrator’s license. Licensure is a state and federal requirement, and consists of a six-month Administrator-in-training program under the supervision of a licensed long term care administrator; and successful completion of a licensing exam on the domains of long term care. Annual license renewal and continuing education hours are also required.
Ms. Belden has been employed at Campbell County Health (CCMH) since 1990, and has worked as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, manager of the Medical Surgical and Intensive Care Units, and as a nurse reviewer in the Quality and Patient Safety Department.
“When I became a nurse I never thought I’d work in long term care,” said Jonni. “But I have developed a love for the residents over the last two years working in Quality. I know there will be challenges, and a lot more to learn, but I’m excited.”
“I have the utmost confidence in Ms. Belden’s ability to manage the operations of Pioneer Manor and create a caring environment where our residents receive the kind of care that they deserve”, said Interim CEO Andy Fitzgerald. “I am excited for the opportunity this presents for Ms. Belden and I’m excited for our organization. I believe we will have strong, stable management for years to come.”
CCMH is in the planning stages of the design for a new long term care facility to be constructed on the site of the former Recreation Center on South Douglas Highway. Ms. Belden has been involved with the design process from the beginning, working closely with the architects, staff, the Pioneer Manor Advisory Board and other stakeholders. CCMH expects to break ground on the new facility in late summer, with construction estimated to take two years.
