The Campbell County Senior Center hosts a Senior Blood Pre-Draw and Health Fair on April 19 and 22. The event is open to all seniors in the community.
Pre-draws take place on Tuesday, April 19 from 6-9 am at the Senior Center, 701 Stocktrail Ave. Campbell County Health Wellness Services is offering 10 different profiles for seniors to choose from for their blood draw – ranging from a basic Wellness Panel for $30 to a Senior Men's or Women's Panel for $85. The Vitamin D test will be at a special discount of $35 for this event only—Vitamin D is important for your bones, heart, respiratory system, brain and may prevent some types of cancer.
The Health Fair takes place Friday, April 22 from 9 am-2 pm, also at the Senior Center. Participants will be able to visit with a variety of local and regional health care-related businesses as well as have their blood work results interpreted by a CCH Wellness professional. And, at 10 am, guest speaker Allen Simpson, Occupational Therapist with CCH Rehabilitation Services, will give a presentation about Vitamin D and tying it into how it will give you more energy to get up and move at home.
