About Kailey
Dr. Richner grew up in central Wyoming and is excited to return to the region. While completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, she gained valuable experience treating and assessing a range of complex presenting concerns across several criminal justice involved settings. She then built upon these foundations at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where she completed both her generalist clinical internship and a postdoctoral fellowship with a trauma emphasis.
She takes a patient-centered approach to care, focusing on collaboration, goal setting, and incorporation of evidence-based treatment and/or assessments. Dr. Richner is particularly passionate about providing
high-quality psychological assessments, risk assessments, crisis support, substance use treatment, and trauma treatment across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
“Every person is the expert of their own life. My role is to work alongside patients, helping them to identify goals and explore various options that fit their unique needs and strengths.”
In addition to direct clinical care, Dr. Richner looks forward to working with the CCH team and other local organizations to expand behavioral health resources in Northeast Wyoming. She is especially motivated by the opportunity to support local efforts in suicide prevention and to strengthen community access to care.
Outside of her professional role, Dr. Richner enjoys weightlifting, hiking, and exploring nearby areas like the Bighorns and Spearfish. She also likes tending to houseplants, baking, and taking up whatever new hobbies Wyoming winters inspire next.
