Thanks for working here Thursday: Valarie Gray, CNA, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Let us introduce Valarie Gray, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who works at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming. She’s been with CCH for a year, but has been in healthcare for 10 years. Valarie calls her mother her healthcare hero. “My mom was a nurse since I was 2 years old. Her compassion for other people is what inspired me to work in the nursing field,” she says.

Valarie’s supervisors had this to say about her:
“Valarie is an exceptional aide, and cares deeply about her resident's and their every concern and wellbeing. She knows every like and dislike and she strives so hard every day to make sure they are cared for in the manner which they deserve to be,” Allison Perry, RN, BSN, The Legacy House Supervisor. “She is a hard worker, and always willing to lend a helping hand! She is amazing, and The Legacy, well, more importantly the residents are blessed to have her!”

“Valarie is a wonderful aid, she is always attentive to her residents, and reaches out to others as she needs help,” says Cindy Prince, RN, BSN, The Legacy House Supervisor. “Valarie takes the extra time to get to know her residents and patients, they are not only her job but also her family. Valerie truly exemplifies excellence every day.”

When Valarie isn’t work, she enjoys being craft—she’s currently working on a blanket!

We asked Valarie what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I like to hear about my residents past and what things were like when they were growing up or raising children. When my resident tells me that I have brightened their whole day, that is when I know they are being well taken care of.

Excellence every day to me means that you not only provide the care you are required to do for your job, but doing a little something extra—even if that is just taking the time to listen to what someone has to say.”

Thank you, Valarie, for listening and being there for our residents. We are proud to have you on our team.

Is there a CCH employee who went the extra mile or shows you extraordinary service? Give them a pat on the back by completing an Excellence Every Day card.
