Thanks for working here this week: Brittany Johnson, PT, DPT, Rehabilitation Services

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow us to introduce Brittany Johnson, PT, DPT, a Physical Therapist who works at CCH Rehabilitation Services in Gillette, Wyoming. Brittany has worked at CCH for 1.5 years, but has been in health care for four years. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of North Dakota.

Brittany knew from a young age that she wanted to help people, and spent a few years trying to figure out what would be the best fit.

“It wasn't until my mom was in a car accident that I was introduced to physical therapy, saw the way her therapist was able to get her doing the basics again and went above and beyond to get her back to doing the things she loves to do. I wanted to be in a profession where I could help people get their joy back. Physical therapy is just that. I truly enjoy helping people get back to doing the things they love!”

When asked who her health hero is, she mentions Dr. Baker from Denver Children's Hospital. “He helped take some of the scariest days of mine and my husband’s away as a new parent when our son was born, and turned them into hope and joy! He's truly the definition of a hero. We wouldn't be where we are now if we hadn't had him in our lives during those stressful days!”

When Brittany isn’t at work, she loves to spend time with her husband and two children. “We spend our time mostly outdoors—the mountains preferably—where we enjoy camping, hunting, hiking and riding our RZR,” she says.

We asked Brittany what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“Since beginning my career at CCH, I have taken pride in the amount of growth I have gone through. There is nothing like being pushed out of your comfort zone to make you a better physical therapist. The opportunities that have been presented to me have given me the confidence and experience to grow and learn and become better at helping people every day.

There is never a day where I cannot look around and seek guidance or knowledge from my coworkers. In our department we have several therapists who are very skilled and have a wealth of knowledge to share! We all have our niches and it's nice to have such a great team to support each other.

I think it's important to remember that what the patient is experiencing might be a first for them, might be the worst for them and might be scary for them. If we treat every day like it's the patient's worst day—provide them with education and treatment to bring back the joy and the hope for better days—then I think we are providing them with excellence. For me it has to be personal. We have to take that extra step.”

Thank you, Brittany, for taking those extra steps for our patients. We appreciate you!
