Thanks for working here this week: Channa Christensen, PTA, Rehabilitation Services

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Channa Christensen who is a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and Exercise Physiologist with CCH Rehabilitation Services in Gillette, Wyoming. Channa earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Exercise Science at Rocky Mountain College and then earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant at San Juan College in 2010. She’s worked for CCH in Rehabilitation Services for 22 years, and has been in health care for a total of 25 years.

Channa was inspired to work in health care after she took a First Aid and CPR class as part of her bachelor's degree program.

“I enjoyed it, so I volunteered to be a student athletic trainer at the college and then decided to pursue physical therapy afterward. I have a desire to take care of people and to help ease their pain,” she says.

When asked who her health care hero is, she named Jean Basta, an Athletic Trainer at Rocky Mountain College who then went on to become an orthopedic surgeon.

When Channa is not at work, she loves the outdoors—camping, riding/driving side by sides, playing sports and gardening were all activities that she listed that she enjoys. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as cooking and reading.

We asked Channa what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I always appreciate it when returning athletes, patients, and staff seek me out to say thank you for the work I've done with them and/or the treatment that enabled them to get back to work or to their lives. I feel that the CCH Rehabilitation Services team works together to provide excellence every day and we all have the desire to achieve success with every patient.

Excellence every day is putting forth my very best despite any and all circumstances; keeping our clients, staff and patients first; listening before speaking; being willing to be open to positive changes; and coming to the table with solutions for conflict, always welcoming visitors to our facilities providing hospitality.”

Thank you, Channa, for taking such great care of our patients. We are proud to have you on our team.
