Thanks for working here this week: Krista Copping, CCH Revenue Cycle

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Krista Copping who is a Revenue Integrity Specialist in the Revenue Cycle department at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. First, let’s congratulate Krista for her marriage on October 17! Krista accepted her first job in healthcare with CCH in May 2010, and is currently studying at Ashford University to receive a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration.

Krista works with medical professionals to collect information on what services and products are in use, how popular they are, and if they’re slated for discontinuation or other modification. She also helps to navigate complex issues such as aligning codes with those from the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Division (ICD-10), and looks for inaccuracies in charge-to-cost ratios for Medicare services.

Krista was drawn to the health care industry because she describes herself as a “fixer.” “I love helping people anytime I can help make a difference in their lives,” she says.

Krista also says that she doesn’t have just one health care hero. “My passion for helping has always been in the behavioral health field. Anyone who is in this field and truly tries to make a difference for patients are hero's to me,” she says.

When Krista isn’t at work, she loves to be active. “I play on women’s and co-ed softball teams during the summer months, and play volleyball on a co-ed team during winter and fall. When I am not doing that, I have a close group of friends that get together often and travel, or have game nights, or movie nights,” she says.

We asked Krista what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I changed career paths in April 2019—from working in Behavioral Health Services to Revenue Cycle. I love learning this new role and how to make our hospital's revenue flow more accurately. I like getting to know different employees in each department and working together to make sure our hospital and each department is successful. I like the learning aspect the most in this role. Prior to me, there had not been someone to maintain our hospital's charge description master (CDM)*, so learning about what an impact this role has organization wide is what I like the most.

Excellence every day to me is being prideful about working for CCH and making sure our patients are taken care of from the moment they walk in for services—all the way up to when they need to pay a bill.”

Thank you, Krista, for helping us take great care of our patients. We appreciate you.

Is there a CCH employee who went the extra mile or shows you extraordinary service? Give them a pat on the back by completing an Excellence Every Day card.
