CCH response to GNR Medicaid Repayment Article

September 1, the Gillette News Record published an article discussing the $1,500,000 Medicaid repayment settlement CCH entered into with the State of Wyoming for the Summer Kids Program over billing the State's Medicaid program from 2015-2019. This announcement, discussion, and vote took place at the monthly board meeting on August, 26. CCH has also entered into a three year corporate integrity agreement. The Board of Trustees and CCH want to thank the State for bringing their concerns to our attention. The cooperation from CCH during the audit was something that was commended on by the State.

We are seeing a lot of frustrations being expressed, and questions being asked by the public. We want to address them. It is humbling to know that we have a community willing to be engaged, and paying attention to the actions of this board, and organization. Holding us accountable to being as transparent as possible is something we value.

The current leadership team at CCH was not in the Leadership roles during 2015-2019. This goes for our Board Chairman, and some other members of the board.

CCH and the State resolved the concerns under the civil false claims authority. The State did not allege there to be illegal behaviors. No one from the Board of Trustees, or CCH Leadership financially benefited from this program. No one was terminated as a result of this audit.

This was a growing experience for our organization. We hear the frustrations from the community surrounding our billing practices, and this is yet another result of a problem that is needing to be fixed.

We are thankful to the State for conducting a professional and thorough audit.

As of September 1-CCH is an affiliate with UCHealth-with our new affiliation CCH will be implementing a new EMR system that will ensure this issue does not happen again.

We are committed to ensuring complete billing compliance with the State of Wyoming's Medicaid Program.

The Board of Trustees and CCH are encouraging anyone from the community who has questions or concerns surrounding the repayment to contact them. It is encouraged that people watch the board meeting that was shown on Gillette Public Access where the Board discusses the repayment on a public forum.

Watch the CCH Board of Trustees discuss this during the August 2021 meeting on the City of Gillette Public Access Channel 192. To watch the discussion on this specific item, please go to Agenda Item #19, at 1:47:43 (the second J Action Item on the right side).

We also are sharing the press release from the Attorney General's office for you to reference.
