Thanks for working here this week: Jamie Black, Human Resources

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Introducing Jamie Black, Senior HR Generalist in the Campbell County Health Human Resources Department in Gillette, Wyoming. Jamie has worked at CCH for 3 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and Human Resources from Chadron State College and is a Certified Franklin Covey Facilitator for The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

When asked what makes Jamie feel the most pride in her work at CCH, she had a simple yet profound answer: helping people. “Human Resources is not one of the front line departments that comes to mind when people think of healthcare, but we still play a role in making sure that the hospital continues to run as efficiently as possible. While we are not involved in direct patient care, we do everything we can to make sure that our employees have a great place to work so that they can provide care to every patient who comes through our doors.”

Jamie says that she doesn’t have just one health care hero. “At this point, everyone in the organization is my healthcare hero. In the last two years I have watched so many people go above and beyond to meet the demands of continually changing healthcare requirements, staffing shortages, and every other obstacle that has come our way. Numerous individuals have been willing to take on extra tasks and work in departments where the need is the greatest. People see and need and work together to fulfill it, and do their best to provide outstanding customer service in the process!”

What Jamie enjoys most about working in the Human Resources department is hiring new staff and helping people solve their problems. “It can be a lot of fun to offer a job to a candidate, because it is an exciting time for them when they are being offered a position they were hoping to get.”

When asked ‘what does excellence every day’ mean to you, Jamie answered “To me, Excellence Every Day means putting the best version of yourself into whatever you are working on, and striving to make that project or task the best that it can be.”

When not on the CCH campus, Jamie’s family owns a ranch in Rozet and that is where she spends the majority of time when not working. We raise cattle and sheep, as well as pigs and goats for 4-H and FFA members. “I enjoy raising livestock and helping the youth of the community learn the responsibility of raising an animal and committing to the completion of a project. I also enjoy running half marathons and try to participate in those as often as possible!”

Thank you, Jamie, for helping to take great care of our CCH employees. We appreciate all that you do.

Is there a CCH employee who went the extra mile or shows you extraordinary service? Give them a pat on the back by completing an Excellence Every Day card.
