CCH Launches Epic: A Smarter, Simpler Way to Manage Your Health

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, Campbell County Health (CCH) will officially launch Epic, one of the nation’s most trusted electronic health record (EHR) systems. This transition marks a major milestone in CCH’s ongoing commitment to improving patient care, enhancing communication, and streamlining healthcare services across the organization.

A key feature of Epic is MyChart, a secure, user-friendly online portal and mobile app that gives patients convenient 24/7 access to their health information. Through MyChart, patients can view lab results, medications, allergies, immunizations, upcoming appointments, and after-visit summaries. The platform allows for easy appointment management—scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling visits without having to call the clinic. Patients can also send secure messages to their care team, request prescription refills, and pay medical bills online. Health maintenance reminders for preventive care such as vaccinations and screenings are built right in, helping patients stay on top of their wellness.

MyChart also supports proxy access, making it easier for caregivers to manage the health of children or aging family members. For those who’ve received care at other healthcare organizations that also use Epic, MyChart brings together that information in one view, promoting greater care coordination through features like Care Everywhere and Happy Together.

Over the past 18 months, CCH teams have been diligently preparing for this system transition with extensive training and workflow development to ensure readiness across all departments. While every effort has been made to ensure a smooth launch, patients may experience longer-than-usual processing delays during the initial rollout as staff work carefully to ensure health information is accurate and complete. CCH appreciates the community’s patience and support during this temporary adjustment.

Campbell County Health patients will receive an email with a link to sign-up for MyChart. Patients who already have a MyChart account can log in at https://mychart.uchealth.org/Affiliates/Authentication/Login to access their health information. MyChart is also available for download from the App Store and Google Play.

Patients who received care at CCH before July 19 will still be able to access their records through the current patient portal. Records for visits and care beginning July 19 and beyond will be housed in MyChart.

Matt Shahan, CEO of Campbell County Health, shared his perspective on the launch:
"Epic and MyChart represent more than just new technology—they represent a new chapter in how we serve our community. This transition is about giving our patients more control, more connection, and more confidence in their care experience. We’re proud to invest in systems that support the people we care for every day."
