Supporting Recovery with Compassion: Meet the CCH PORT Team

When someone experiences an overdose, the days that follow are some of the most critical in their journey toward healing. That’s where the Campbell County Health PORT (Post Overdose Response Team) comes in, offering compassionate, non-judgmental support to those affected, and helping them and their loved ones take the first steps toward recovery.

Who We Are

The PORT Team is a specialized group of healthcare professionals dedicated to supporting individuals who have recently experienced an overdose, typically within the past 3–5 days. Our mission is to provide immediate, respectful care while connecting people with the tools and education they need to begin their path forward.

What We Do

Every recovery journey is different. The PORT Team is here to meet individuals where they are, offering harm reduction tools, overdose prevention education, and connections to local resources. Our goal is to empower patients and their support systems to take meaningful steps toward healing without judgment or stigma.

How the PORT Team Can Help

  • Overdose Prevention Education
We provide guidance on how to recognize the signs of an overdose, strategies for prevention, and information about available treatment options.
  • Narcan Kits
As part of our response to 911 calls, we provide Narcan (naloxone) kits to individuals who have experienced an overdose or are identified as high-risk. Narcan is a life-saving medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
  • Connections to Care
We help individuals connect with healthcare providers and substance use counselors to ensure they have access to ongoing medical and behavioral support.

A Compassionate Path Forward

The aftermath of an overdose can feel overwhelming. The CCH PORT Team is here to offer support, information, and a caring presence to help individuals and families begin the recovery journey with confidence.
