Campbell County Health Nurse Practitioner Chosen to Represent Wyoming on National Pediatrics Council
Campbell County Health is proud to share that Tracy Wasserburger, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, has been selected to serve on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Council. This prestigious council unites experts from across the United States and Canada to advance care for newborns. As a representative for Wyoming on the council, Tracy will bring her knowledge and passion for newborn medicine to the national stage.

The Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine plays a key role in shaping education, advocacy, and standards of care in neonatology. Tracy will help ensure that the voices of rural communities are included in conversations about the future of newborn care. “This appointment is both humbling and exciting,” said Tracy. “It allows me to share what we’re doing here in Gillette, learn from some of the best neonatal providers in the country, and bring those ideas back to improve care for babies and families in Wyoming.”

For more than 40 years, Tracy has devoted her career to serving mothers and babies at Campbell County Health. She has helped strengthen local neonatal care through new protocols and expanded services. While Wyoming does not have a Level 3 or 4 NICU, or full-time practicing neonatologists, this appointment demonstrates that innovation and leadership in newborn medicine can come from anywhere. Families in Gillette and across the region will benefit from the connections, resources, and expertise this role brings back to the community.

Campbell County Health congratulates Tracy on this remarkable achievement and thanks her for her dedication to giving Wyoming’s tiniest patients the very best start in life.
