EMS Staff Receive American Heart Association Heartsaver Hero Awards

Campbell County Health is proud to recognize Angelyna, Courtney, and Collette of our EMS team, who were recently presented with American Heart Association Heartsaver Hero Awards for their role in a Father’s Day cardiac arrest save last year.

This award honors individuals who advance the mission of the American Heart Association and emergency cardiovascular care through courageous action in an effort to save a life. For Angelyna, Courtney, and Collette, that recognition reflects not only a single moment of excellence, but also the compassion, skill, and teamwork they bring to every call.

In emergency medicine, some moments stay with you. A cardiac arrest call is one of them. It takes quick thinking, clinical skill, trust in your team, and the ability to stay calm under immense pressure. Angelyna, Courtney, and Collette demonstrated all of that during this life-saving response, helping deliver critical care when it was needed most.

This recognition also reflects the importance of teamwork across agencies during emergency situations. Campbell County Health would also like to thank the Gillette Police Department and Campbell County Fire Department for their assistance and support on scene. Responses like this are made stronger through collaboration, and we are grateful for the role they played in helping provide care.

Their recognition is a meaningful reminder of the impact first responders have every day. Behind every emergency response is a team of people willing to step into difficult moments and do everything they can for patients and families. Angelyna, Courtney, and Collette represent that commitment well, and this award shines a light on the extraordinary care they provide in our community.
