About Chere

Chere’s path in healthcare began in the Air National Guard, where she served as a medic. From there, she continued building her clinical foundation step by step. She started working as a CNA, then went on to LPN, then RN, and ultimately advancing to earn her bachelor’s degree and master's degree in nursing. She has been a nurse since 2003 and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) for the past eight years.

Her clinical background is broad and rich. Before becoming an APRN, Chere worked in emergency medicine, ICU, pediatrics, and women’s health. She has spent much of her nurse practitioner career in family practice and urgent care, caring for patients of all ages with conditions ranging from acute illness and injury to chronic health needs. She also served as a manager of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program, collaborating with agencies across Wyoming to provide training, advocacy, and support for communities statewide.

Chere completed her master’s degree at Walden University, where her program allowed her to rotate through a variety of clinical settings, including women’s health studies in Cheyenne and hands-on experience with a midwife at a family birthing center in Denver. Her bachelor’s degree in nursing was earned at the University of Wyoming, and her associate degree at Laramie County Community College, making nearly all of her nursing education rooted in the state she has called home since she was twenty.

A lifelong desire to care for others is what drew Chere into nursing. She has always been motivated by the opportunity to support people during some of their most difficult or vulnerable moments. She says walking with patients through their health journeys, and helping them find clarity and confidence along the way, has always been the most meaningful part of her work.

Chere was drawn to CCH because of the connection she felt with the Walk-In team from the very beginning. During her interview process, she was impressed by the collaboration among advanced providers and the strong, supportive culture across the organization. She immediately sensed the teamwork, communication, and shared commitment to serving the community that set CCH apart.

In the Walk-In Clinic, Chere looks forward to providing care for any condition that walks through the door. She is comfortable caring for people of all ages and health needs. She values the fast-paced environment of urgent care and the ability to be present for patients exactly when they need help.

Outside of work, Chere and her husband spend as much time outdoors as possible. They enjoy hiking, fishing, 4-wheeling, working with their horses, and participating in running events. Regardless if they are at home or on the trail, spending time outdoors is her way of staying grounded.
