Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.
Allow me to introduce Brian Edwards, LMFT, CATC, who is a Mental Health Counselor III with Behavioral Health Services. What do his credentials mean? Well, he's a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in three states (California, Tennessee and Wyoming) as well as a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor. Brian grew up in Gillette, graduating in 1995, and earned his master's in Counseling Psychology from
California Lutheran University in Los Angeles, as well as his bachelor's in Psychology from
Northern Arizona University. While in California, Brian provided free services to veterans as part of his practice (along with many other services), which later helped him and his wife make a move to Vicenza, Italy to provide counseling to U.S. Army soldiers and their families. Brian has only recently returned to Gillette, and started working at CCH, but his colleagues will tell you that he has already made many positive contributions to the department and the organization. We asked Brian what inspired him to work in healthcare, and what he likes most about working at CCH. Check out his response:
"The tragedies of 9/11 changed my life. After the United States invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, I knew there would be thousands of our heroes coming back with psychological difficulties. My goal was to find an arena that I could serve them and their families after coming back from war. I have worked with veterans for the last 11 years, and look forward to providing them with the care they need throughout my career.
From my first day at CCH, everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful. I love being challenged by other medical professionals in the building to go beyond what I have already learned—it helps push me beyond my comfort zone in order to make sure my patient care is the best it can be. Working with the BHS Team feels like working with family. We come together to provide the best care to our patients, we laugh with each other, and support one another through feedback and input on difficult cases. This team is very dedicated and is a great environment to work in. Having an onsite café with great coffee and friendliness helps, too."
Brian, thank you for being the best you can be for our patients. We appreciate you and are proud to have you on our team!
