Kris Canfield, MD,FACS,PC

About Kris

Dr Canfield is a native of Kansas and attended University of Kansas Medical School. He completed his degree in 1999. He then continued on to his residency at Michigan State University. After graduating Dr Canfield worked in Northern Kansas until 2010. In June of 2010 Dr Canfield and his family decided to relocate to Gillette, Wyoming. Since being in Gillette, Dr Canfield has been dedicated to serving his community for the last eight years. Along with the passion for serving, he volunteers his talents on the mission field. Some of the places he has served have been Mexico, Costa Rica and Cameroon in West Central Africa.  Dr. Canfield recently served as Chief of Surgery at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Canfield’s surgical specialties include:

  • Abdominal Surgery

  • Gallbladder Surgery (Cholecystectomy)

  • Colon and Rectal Surgery

  • Breast Surgery / Mastectomy

  • Thyroid and Parathyroid Disease

  • Advanced Laparoscopy

  • Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery

  • Endoscopy, including EGD and Colonoscopy

  • Bronchoscopy, including EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound-guided biopsy)

Dr. Canfield is also certified in performing Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical procedures, further expanding his ability to deliver minimally invasive care with precision and expertise.
