GILLETTE, WY – The Campbell County Health Board of Trustees today named Andy Fitzgerald as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Bob Morasko, whose contract ended December 31, 2012.

Andy is currently the Interim CEO and Executive Vice President of CCMH. He has over 25 years of healthcare finance and administration experience and has worked in large metropolitan hospitals with Humana in Dallas, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, and Denver, Colorado, as well as rural, sole-community hospitals in Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon. Mr. Fitzgerald is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He received his undergraduate degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and attended graduate school at the University of Colorado’s Masters of Science in Finance program. He has been co-chair of the Insurance Exchange Commission, having been appointed by Governor Dave Freudenthal. He also served at the request of Governor Freudenthal on the Wyoming Healthcare Commission. In addition, Mr. Fitzgerald is the current Chairman of the Campbell County Land Board, a member of the Gillette Chamber Singers, a veteran of the U.S. Army, an avid fly fisherman, and most importantly, a husband of 34 years and father of four children.

“I have always been proud to be a part of Campbell County Health and a member of the Campbell County community,’ said Mr. Fitzgerald.” Gillette is my home and my family and I are committed to this community. As CEO, I intend to do all that I can to serve the Board, the community, the medical staff, and the employees by providing leadership that will help CCMH realize our vision of becoming the best health care provider in Wyoming.”

The decision to offer the position to Mr. Fitzgerald was unanimous. The Board began discussing a process to hire a new CEO after former CEO Bob Morasko’s contract was amended in October 2012, to ensure a smooth transition for the organization and staff. Over the past few months, a search committee was formed, a number of resumes were received and interviews were conducted via Skype and in person. However, Mr. Fitzgerald was clearly the best choice of all the candidates the Board considered.

Mr. Fitzgerald will receive a base salary of $325,000 annually, with the potential to earn a $50,000 bonus. Salary surveys were performed for comparable healthcare CEO positions in the state and region and this compensation package was well within the average compensation of these surveys.

“It was important to the Board to put strong leadership in place,” said Sara Hartsaw, MD, Board Chair. “We have many ongoing projects and ambitious goals in the near future, such as the new long term care facility and our customer service partnership with the Studer Group. We don’t want to lose momentum. The employees, Medical Staff, and the community all know and respect Mr. Fitzgerald,” said Dr. Hartsaw. “The Board has trusted and respected him ever since he’s been here. We are excited to have Andy assume this leadership position. He’s the right fit for CCMH.”
