Thanks for working here Thursday: Raelyn Rozier, RN II, CEN, Emergency Department

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow me to introduce Raelyn Rozier, RN II, CEN, in the Campbell County Health Emergency Department, which provides 24/7 services for patients of all ages during a crisis. Raelyn has been with Campbell County Health for four years in June, and says the work she does in an ED is always different—"you truly never know what kind of patient or trauma may come through the department, and you can never predict when. It is a challenge to be ready and open to what may come through your doors each day." We asked Raelyn what inspired her to work in health care and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

"I was inspired that I could become a nurse by my family, and chose to become a nurse because of the power of knowledge. I remember many situations where a family member or friend had life-changing medical situations, and how helpless it felt to not understand what was going to, or could happen. I like to be there for families and patients to "bridge the gap" and help them understand what has or is happening to them and help them to understand their current situation and reassure them, there is a next step.

We are all here for our patients in some form. How you choose to be prepared in your profession reflects on you, and your department. Continually learning and growing in your field will improve what you can offer your patients every day. To me, striving for excellence is excellence every day."

We agree, Raelyn. Thank you for the good work you do in the ED, taking care of patients when they may need us during a very traumatic time in their life. We appreciate you.
