EMS Week 2017 is celebrated May 21-27, and highlights the vital services provided every day by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals nationally. When the unthinkable happens, EMS professionals are ready to swoop in to help you and your loved ones.

What you see in this poster are the faces of CCH EMS. They are Paramedics, Intermediate EMTs, Advanced EMTs, Basic EMTs and EMT/RNs. They are people who help others, save others, and serve others with compassion and courage.

The EMS department at CCH is a group of 32 professionals who are staffed in Gillette and Wright. From May 2016-April 2017, EMS responded to more than 3,183 calls. Last year, our EMS staff helped with 27 cardiac arrests (with six lives saved), six STEMI’s and helped deliver one baby.

Our dedicated EMS crews also provide ambulance tours to many different groups and visit students in classrooms to give our youth a feel for what EMS professionals do on the job, and the life-saving equipment that they work with. These pre-hospital professionals also provide contracted services for multiple events including rodeos, stock car races, motocross, roller derby, and anything else.

There are eight nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff, and one instructor, who can perform free car seat checks via Safe Kids Campbell County. From May 2016 to April 2017, 142 child safety seat inspections were done, and nearly 3,200 people attended child passenger education, which includes bike safety, child passenger safety, home safety, infant safety and poison control.

A big round of applause to the Emergency Medical Services department staff! Thank you for providing the best care for our patients in their time of greatest need. We appreciate our front-line of care and their commitment to ensuring that Campbell County Health continues to provide excellence, every day.
